Get into spirit of Careers Week
Published on 19 May, 2009
You can get into the spirit of National Career Development Week (May 18-24) and also plan for a Careers Assessment Workshop scheduled for Rockhampton Campus on July 27...
More details about the national event is available at: http://www.nationalcareerdevelopmentweek.com.au/.
This initiative aims to promote and encourage Australians to take personal responsibility and ‘ownership' in the management of their own careers.
On a more local level, it is an opportunity to highlight the services that CQUniversity's Careers and Employment Service offers our on-campus and distance students.- If you are unsure of: What program you should study? Where your current program of study can take you? What employment opportunities are available with your degree? ... then you should take time to visit the Careers and Employment Service website and access the relevant information. If further assistance is needed the Careers and Employment Service can be contacted directly at ssc@cqu.edu.au.
- If additional careers pathway assistance is required then people often choose to participate in a Careers Assessment. Careers Assessments are designed to assist you in making a decision about your career path. They are designed to ascertain your interests, preferences and competencies by asking a series of questions and relating the results to a range of career choices.
As part of Careers Development Week, the Careers and Employment Service is promoting its next Careers Assessment workshop, which will be hosted at CQUniversity Rockhampton Campus, from 5pm-7pm on July 27. There's a general Careers Assessment Flyer available.
If you are interested in attending this event, please email ssc@cqu.edu.au for more details and a booking.
The cost for the Careers Assessment is $20 for CQUniversity students; $50 for secondary school students & those enrolled in other Tertiary Education Institutions and $100 for anyone who doesn't fit into these categories.
