CQUniversity consults with staff on future of printing operations

As part of the ongoing review of CQUniversity structures and activities which has been progressively occurring over the past 2 years, the University has advised staff who are associated with producing printed material for student programs, along with their representatives, that due to the very significant move to online electronic material, that there is a need to consult on the way forward.

The challenge facing the University is highlighted by the fact that the its printing requirements have declined more than 50% in the past 3 years, the printing equipment is aged and requires replacing and there is a need for a significant and costly modernisation of facilities.

As part of the consultations around this matter, there are a number of alternate proposals which can be considered including the appointment of preferred external providers. However, prior to any decisions, the University is undertaking an extended and extensive consultation period with affected staff and their representative.
