Former Supreme Court now hub for business and industry research

The former Supreme Court in East Street, Rockhampton, has a new life as a hub for Central Queensland University staff engaged in business and industry research and development.

PhotoID:1531 Senior researchers and research students from CQU’s Faculty of Business & Law have moved into the building, which is being renovated to enable research activities and community workshops.

A refreshed focus on business networking, community engagement and industry-relevant programs is driving the city centre strategy for the Faculty.

The facility is viewed as perfect for both informal networking events and more intensive sharing of trends and research results.

The CBD-move is an echo of the Faculty’s refreshed focus on developing degrees that reflect the current needs of business and industry. The aim is for relevant degree programs which enable students to experience work in relevant industry settings before they graduate.
