First year Information Technology student Rebecca Walsh took out third place in the IT Software Applications section at the national WorldSkills Competition.
The Bundaberg student was nervous about the competition, but lots of practice beforehand ensured the place.
Over 500 competitors participated at the event and each student was assessed on how they complete and perform assigned tasks related to their chosen field.
A total of 50 trade and skill categories were contested, including bricklaying, plumbing, web design and IT software applications.
"I am enjoying uni life and that you get to learn something new everyday," Rebecca said.
