Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Scholarships connect Bundaberg students to Uni 

As part of a new initiative encouraging students to undertake study in information, communication and technology fields, Central Queensland University's Faculty of Informatics and Communication has awarded its 2005 entry scholarships.

PhotoID:1857 Among the recipients were Bundaberg students Peter Feerick and Crystal-Rose Jones, recipients of the CQU Connection IT Scholarships, Daniel Perry, winner of the Dean's Award for Excellence in Communication & Cultural Studies, and Maximilian Fleet who was awarded a CQU Continuing Scholarship.

The CQU Connection IT scholarships aim to provide greater access, participation and success in higher education. The CQU Continuing Scholarship recognises students with an outstanding academic achievement.
