Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Emerald residents welcome at 'Preferred Futures Expo' 

Emerald residents are welcome at a free ‘Preferred Futures Expo’ to be presented from 10am-Noon on Monday, September 13, at the Emerald Market Plaza.

The expo will be presented by CQU Emerald Bachelor of Learning Management students.

Organisers said displays would centre on preferred futures for the community with themes such as ‘Say No to Plastic Bags’, ‘Recycling’, ‘Gem Mining’ and ‘The Food of the Future’.

The University students will be on hand to answer any questions and explain the ideas behind their displays.
