Gladstone researchers get chance to network at CRC Symposium
Published on 22 June, 2006
A symposium held at CQU Gladstone this week was an opportunity for 4 Process Engineering and Light Metals research students to network with fellow researchers and industry representatives from around the country.
The symposium was organised by the Centre for Sustainable Resource Processing (CSRP) as a forum for PhD, Masters and Honours students studying within the minerals and energy sector.
Dr Dan Churach, Education Program Manager (CSRP) and one of the organisers of the event, said the major aim of the week was to foster an informal, relaxed atmosphere with the intention of allowing participants the opportunity to develop personal relationships and expand their network.
“Events such as this allow researchers to network with other young researchers and with industry representatives and other professionals within the wider minerals sector.
“It’s also a great for these researchers to understand the types of opportunities available for them in regional areas such as Gladstone,” said Dr Churach.
This is the second year the symposium has been held, with the first event being held in Pinjarra, Western Australia.
