University staff and students play Santa for needy families

CQUniversity staff and students dug deep in recent weeks to give some Rockhampton families a better Christmas.
Hundreds of dollars worth of food and gifts were gathered to contribute to the Salvation Army's Christmas Appeal.
CQUniversity's Golden Key* student organisation representative Louise Hayes said she hoped the contribution would make a few families happier at this time of the year.
Salvation Army representative Jeff Packer collected the goodies that were wrapped in Santa sacks and packed in washing baskets.
Mr Packer said there were many families in need at this time of the year and he thanked the University for its help with the appeal.
The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal is an annual community service project.
