Engineering farewells Co-Op stalwart
Published on 15 September, 2005
Last Thursday, members of the James Goldston Faculty of Engineering and Physical Systems attended a farewell for Rod Edwards, former Director of the Bachelor of Engineering Co-op program.
Mr Edwards is currently enjoying his retirement with plans to spend time with his wife travelling to different parts of Australia, playing golf and following their other interests.
The former Co-op director's contribution to this Faculty and the University as a whole is something that is recognised, commended and appreciated.
The Faculty recognises Mr Edwards' inspiring support and enthusiastic ability to foresee the benefits and rewards that all participating members (students/university and industry stakeholders) would achieve from the development of the Co-op program as well as other program initiatives such as the Diploma of Professional Practice.
People who have sought their life's vocation through their occupation, contribute to each and everyone with whom they have had contact and exude a sense of contentment, security and confidence.
Mr Edwards is one of those people who has given in so many ways, inspiring people to commit to that next step in their life's journey, always done with the least amount of fuss and noise.
The Dean Professor Elizabeth Taylor and several staff thanked Rod for his unstinting contributions to the development of the Faculty and wished him and his wife a long and happy retirement, sure in the knowledge that he will be sorely missed.
