Central Queensland University Mackay invited school leavers and prospective mature-age students to attend its Careers Evening on September 4.
In a first for the campus the event included interactive activities alongside displays from each faculty.
CQU Mackay Head of Campus Phillip Clift encouraged prospective students to sample what was included in various university programs. “This is an ideal opportunity to discover what is offered here in Mackay and discuss tertiary education options with educators and those who can assist with career changes,” he said.
“The activities cover a range of interests and should allow members of the public to make informed choices about their future and enrolment decisions." Activities during the evening included sample lectures, assessing patient needs in the nursing laboratory, creating a web-page, analysing water samples and discussing course options.
