Teachers to link with scientists and engineers
Published on 23 July, 2008
Rockhampton district high school teachers will link with scientists and engineers at CQUniversity Rockhampton on August 6-7.
The opportunity has been arranged by the Engineering Link Group and the University. It's supported by the Queensland Government Department of Main Roads and Engineers Australia.
The program features a workshop specifically developed for teachers involved in the teaching of contextual material in senior science, with applications for mathematics.
Participants can also learn about the roles of engineers in society and how their problem solving approaches can be applied to teaching in context. They will gain enrichment and resource materials for their contexts in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
There will also be a chance for networking with engineers, academics and other teachers.
