Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mini-Olympics a fun start for International Week 

CQUniversity Rockhampton's Mini-Olympics on Sunday (April 18) pitted more than 150 staff and students from a wide range of nationalities against each other across sports including indoor soccer, cricket, tennis, table tennis and basketball.  This event was a fun way to start CQUniversity's International Week and up to 300 people attended.

Results: Uni One won the soccer; Susan Schick won croquet; the Centre for Railway Research took out all of the bocce matches; Team India won the cricket; The Underdogs won Volleyball; Daniel Pun and Noel Patson won Table Tennis; Haruka Izuhara and Denny won Badminton; Rohan Beatson and Emily Mason won Tennis and the Underdogs won Basketball.
