Dr Killion looks forward to Canonisation in Rome

CQUniversity's Dr Emma Killion will be watching with an academic perspective when she visits Rome for the Canonisation of Blessed Mary MacKillop in October.

Dr Killion, who is also a CQUni Alumnus, was motivated to attend the historic event as it relates to her doctoral research into pilgrimage tourism.

This doctoral research focused on visitors and pilgrims to Mary MacKillop Place (including the Memorial Chapel and Museum constructed on the site of the former Josephite Mother House at North Sydney) immediately after Mother Mary's Beatification announcement and ceremonies which occurred at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney in 1993.

Dr Killion is Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Performing Arts and was a member of the teaching team for the first-year course in 'The Arts' in Term 1 2010.
