Mega Macca Day

Mix McDonalds, Performing Arts students, grandmas and kids and you come up with a lot of McFun at the CQU Foundation sponsored launch of Seniors Week in Rockhampton on Saturday 17 August.

PhotoID:242 McDonalds on both sides of the city saw clowns, dancers, balloons and lots of CQU hats, when the Foundation’s Golden Years program sponsored a “Maccas Breaky”, encouraging Seniors to bring their grandchildren to breakfast.

CQU also featured as the final destination for the seniors’ Mystery Bus Tour at the Community Gym, where Scott Lovegrove took 120 seniors through some simple, gentle and fun exercises designed to enhance lifestyle. Hands-on tours of the gym equipment were given, demonstrating the value of weight-bearing exercises to combat osteoporosis. Seniors classes were promoted and valuable information was distributed.

After lunch, the group were entertained by some talented students from the Bachelor of Performing Arts program and were given University ‘showbags’ full of information about opportunities through CQU.
