Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

School science teachers spend day in Uni labs 

High school science teachers from the Capricornia district have spent a day with staff and students in CQU Rockhampton chemistry laboratories to refresh their knowledge.

PhotoID:1253 Their visit was made possible by funding sourced by CQU graduate Rebecca Hack, from Rockhampton High School. The visitors included Anne Fleming (Yeppoon); Susan Slattery (Mt Morgan); Moyna Richardson (Rockhampton); and Warwick Atkinson (North Rockhampton).

While at CQU, the teachers sat in on a guest lecture by CQU graduate Andrew Stewart who is now a forensic chemist. They were hosted by Associate Professor Graham Pegg.
