Access to job information made easier

The process of job hunting has just been made easier with the recent launch of a Careers Resource Library at the Gladstone campus.

The collection of books, pamphlets and videos were recently relocated from the campus counselling office to its new home in the photocopying room of the campus library.

Campus counsellor, Pam Brown said the move was made to make job information for CQU graduates more openly available and accessible.

“It’s a free, self-borrowing, self-return system and there is an enquiry box so that if you can’t find the information you’re after, you can leave a note and someone will get back to you with a response.

“The resources will be continually updated and a job board will advertise current jobs for graduates in all degree programs and will also promote information sessions on topics such as how to apply for a job and develop a resume.

“Students need to remember that a degree doesn’t earn them a job, they have to apply, do a resume and sit a resume just like any other job applicant and this resource library will hopefully make all of that easier,” said Mrs Brown.

Students can access the careers information in the library during library hours.
