Art donation keeps memories afloat

Emeritus Professor Elizabeth Taylor AO and long-serving academic Dave Cardnell have jointly donated a painting as a way of saying 'thank you' to the CQUniversity community and also as a way of being remembered.

The artwork Garrison was painted by Dave's brother Keith Cardnell, a professional artist working and living in Kent, England.

"The giving of a painting and a plaque noting the names of the donors will last as long as the artwork is held by the university," said Dave. "Buildings will come and go but the artwork will remain as part of the collection."

On hand to acknowledge the donation, Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman was impressed by the photo-realistic style of the work and thanked both Elizabeth and Dave for their contribution to CQUniversity.

The painting will hang in Building 30.
