Message from the Face of the Fair

Sylvia Forsung, International Student from Cameroon, Central Africa.

As this year’s Face of the Fair, I encourage you to attend Central Queensland’s largest family event of the year, the Central Queensland Multicultural Fair and CQU Rockhampton Open Day, on Sunday August 14.

PhotoID:2449 Thousands of visitors are expected to visit the Rockhampton campus on this special day to taste the international foods, experience the different cultures, be entertained by the quality performers and learn more about their local university.

I particularly invite you to see the Parade of Nations which promises to be a great representation of the different cultures that are a part of Central Queensland. The parade will focus on the cultural dress of our international representatives.

Another attraction will be music from internationally-renowned band Sirocco, along with performances by a group of German bell ringers, local acoustic band Biorhythms, The Bushmill Band, Bangladeshi dancers, Aussie poet Lea Enchelmaier and the MNA traditional folk dancers.

I have recently arrived in Australia to study for an MBA at CQU in Rockhampton and am very excited about being involved in the multicultural communities of the region.

CQU has a large number of international students and I have made a lot of friends both from Australia and other countries since arriving here.

I am proud to be an ambassador for this year’s CQ Multicultural Fair and University Open Day.

I will see you there!
