Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Registration now open for Lifelong Learning conference 

Registration is now open for the 5th International Lifelong Learning Conference to be held at Rydges Capricorn Resort on June 16-19.

The theme for this year's conference is "Reflecting on successes and framing futures".

Keynote speakers for the conference are:


- Associate Professor Patrick Danaher, University of Southern Queensland


- Dr Fred Lockwood, Emeritus Professor of Learning and Teaching at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK


- Dr Lana W. Jackman, Principal Melange Information Services and co-chair of the National Forum on Information Literacy, Cambridge, Massachusetts

- Dr Hamish Coates, Senior Research Fellow, Australian Council for Educational Research.

Workshops to be presented from 1pm-4pm on June 16 include:

- Prior Learning and Portfolio Preparation: on the road to life long learning Marici Snyman and RPL colleagues (RPL Department, UNISA. South Africa).
