Business links hoped for in 'wake' of Festival

Recent CQU graduate Tim Pianta (above) was among a range of exhibitors at the Festival of Innovation in Rockhampton last Thursday.

Mr Pianta is promoting his Hydrofoil Wake Enhancer for outboard motorised boats. His hydrofoil is used inverted to apply a downward load which forces the boat to displace more water and generate higher wake. The complete project involved researching, designing, fabricating and testing the wake enhancer without compromising the safety and stability of the vessel.

Three staff members from the CRE presented a session with industry partners, Ergon Energy and QR, on 'Partnering to enhance competitive advantage'.

A range of CQU staff members were involved in the third annual Festival of Innovation event organised by the Department of State Development and Innovation (and sponsored by CQU).
