Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Staff and students part of Rocky Fringe movie festival 

CQU staff and students have contributed many of the entries in this week's Rocky Fringe Short Film Competition and Festival.

PhotoID:2272 Their entries will screen from 8pm Friday, August 19, at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre.

The chief judge is Kerry O'Rourke, the Executive Director of QPIX.

Entry to the screening costs $10 and seats are limited, so call 4936 8344 to secure tickets.

Entries have come from staff members Marc Barnbaum, Peter Lawrence and Emylee Tickner, current PhD student Stephen Jahnke and graduate Bloss Hickson.
