Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Leading project managers gather at Gladstone Campus 

CQUniversity Gladstone recently hosted the manager of one of Queensland's largest projects to address the Project Management Institute Queensland Central Sub Chapter (PMIQC).

The guest speaker was Barbara Rusinko, who is Senior Project Manager for the QCLNG (Queensland Curtis Liquified Natural Gas) project and Principal Vice President for Bechtel.

About 20 project managers from Gladstone industries attended the dining room of the Leo Zussino Building to learn from Ms Rusinko's quarter century of experience with Bechtel across engineering, project management and team leadership.

The event was facilitated by Ruth Kinslow from the Queensland Centre for Professional Development at CQUniversity.
