Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Run fun can also benefit our Wellness Centre 

Runners can enjoy the forthcoming Rocky River Run, knowing proceeds from the Rotary Club of Rockhampton event will help our Psychology Wellness Centre provide therapy, consultation and assessment services.

Funds raised during the event on Sunday June 12 will be directed towards mental health and youth suicide prevention strategies, including some terrific initiatives led by the Wellness Centre.

The Psychology Wellness Centre is an intern training and research centre which opened in the latter half of 2010. It offers help with everything from couples counseling and parenting advice to anger management and therapy for stress, anxiety and depression.

A large range of therapy, consultation and assessment services are available at a low cost and the initial assessments are free of charge.
