Emerald sponsors Sunflower Festival entrant

CQU Emerald is sponsoring a quest entrant for the annual Sunflower Festival, which is held at Easter.

Sarah Dennis (pictured) is a second-year Bachelor of Learning Management student at Emerald and is raising money for the Central Highlands Science Centre.

PhotoID:3695 Sarah was recently quoted in the CQ News as saying that her efforts would help raise awareness about the Science Centre, as well as funds.

"Science and technology are a large part of our lives and the Science Centre offers a fun way for kids to learn," she is quoted as saying.

The Central Highlands Science Centre, which is sponsored by Central Queensland University, has some great hands-on experiments for kids.

Staff at CQU Emerald have been helping Sarah organise fundraising activities including raffles, an auction of sporting memorabilia and a movie premiere.

Sarah and her committee will be kept active for the next few months busily raising money for the Sunflower Festival, which culminates on Easter Saturday with a street parade and rodeo.
