CQU Mackay Library scores some scores

The Library at CQU Mackay is holding a wine and cheese night on Monday, August 29, from 4pm to celebrate a new acquisition.
Mackay Orchestras Incorporated (MOI) has transferred its orchestral music collection of scores to the CQU Library where it can be properly housed in an air-conditioned environment and managed appropriately by the library.
The library staff and MOI librarian have been busy cataloguing the extensive collection, which is now to be made available to the Heads of Music at local schools.
According to Ms Pauline McNee, CQU Music Liaison Librarian, “this is a really important acquisition for the CQU Mackay campus library and enables our library to be of great support to members of the local music community, who may become community music borrowers at a cost of $11 per month".
“I would like to thank MOI for their cooperation and support with this project, in particular Sarah Howes the MOI Librarian, and the library staff at CQU".
“We look forward to looking after the collection and seeing local schools make the most of this valuable resource".
