Love of singing the only requirement for Big Sing

A love of singing is the only entry requirement for participants in Yeppoon's second Big Sing weekend, on September 21-23.

Registrations are invited from all singers, including crooners and bathroom opera stars as well as singing teachers and trained vocalists.

Visiting choral conductors Paul Holley and Paul Jarman, both leading national figures in their field, are once again leading a series of sessions covering all voice types.

There will also be sessions on warm-ups, composition, conducting and music promotion. There's even a chance to bring along an instrument for a folk orchestra session.

The weekend will culminate in a gala concert from 3pm on Yeppoon Town Hall on Sunday, September 23.

Organiser Amanda O'Brien announced a sponsorship from Central Queensland University would ensure the success of the event.

"CQU is keen to support Big Sing as it is in tune with opportunities in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education, in particular the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music," she said.

Registration forms for Big Sing are available via http://www.amandaobrien.com.au/ or at the Yeppoon Library, Yellow Door or Pilbeam Theatre, or contact 4938 3174 or 4933 6125 or sing@amandaobrien.com.au
