CQU Mackay staff lead the way in Creativity

CQU Mackay staff have received commendation awards at the Mackay Regional Art Awards for their contributions to the creative industries.

The Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) received an award in the Philanthropy category for its efforts in the free concert series. CQCM held several free concerts during 2004: Judith Brown Lecture Recitals, Garrick Jones and friends, Artspace/CQCM, CQCM/ABC Radio/ Mackay City Council.

“These events will continue in 2005 and commendations for our efforts give us all additional gratification and make it all worthwhile.” Judith Brown said. “Our first performance for the year, a Staff Gala Concert at the Conservatorium Theatre on Saturday March 19, 8pm, will showcase many of these performers who have become so well-known in Mackay.”.
