Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU graduates snapped up - 100% success for courses  

PhotoID:5235Many CQU graduates are being snapped up by employers, with a range of courses showing 100% employment rates and almost 9 out of 10 graduates overall getting jobs soon after their degree.

That is according to the latest Australian Graduate Survey results.

Overall, CQU graduates are being employed at a rate of 89.8%, compared with a national average of 84.5%. 

(That is based on the percentage of Australian and New Zealand bachelor degree graduates gaining full-time jobs within 4 months of completing their degree, extracted from Graduate Careers Australia's Australian Graduate Survey).

CQU courses in the areas of Social Work, Health Other, Other Engineering and Nursing Basic all had 100% employment rates (all ahead of the national averages).

Meanwhile, courses in the areas of Humanities (89.4%), Business Studies (91.8%), Accounting (88.7%) and Computer Science (90.6%) were also strong performers.
