Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Conservatorium student on Spicks and Specks 

Ngaiire Joseph is continuing her enrolment with the Bachelor of Jazz Studies at Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Mackay, despite a growing profile on the national pop music scene.

PhotoID:2780 On last night's (Wednesday, May 17) edition of ABC Television's 'Spicks and Specks', Ngaiire discussed her Club Chart Top Ten song collaboration with Paul Mac ('It's Not Me It's You'), her Papua New Guinea heritage and her Pidgin language release in PNG.

Ngaiire recently toured to Australian gigs with Paul Mac, featured in a music video which has screened on Rage and found time to visit PNG to perform to her fans there.

Back in 2004, she was a finalist on the second series of Australian Idol.

Ngaiire now has her own website www.ngaiire.com where fans can order her first official merchanise, a Ngaiire Trucker's Cap.
