Rotary awards CQU employees for 'pride in work'

Two Central Queensland University employees have been recognised for their hard work and dedication to their jobs through the Rotary Pride of Workmanship Awards.

The Rotary Club of Rockhampton East presented awards to Kylie White for her work with CQU's Academic Board and its executive and to Diane Hogan for her work with the University's Faculty of Arts, Health and Sciences.

Both nominated by CQU's School of Nursing and Health Studies senior lecturer Dawn Hay, the awards came as a surprise to both recipients.

In accepting her award, Ms White thanked Dawn for the unexpected nomination.

"I have always tried to give 110% and I appreciate the recognition given by this award," Ms White said.

Awarded for her high level of customer service, Ms Hogan said she felt that customer service was important in any job.

"Working in the Dean’s Office meant my ‘customers’ were predominantly other staff members, so the award was a nice ‘thank you’ for the recognition of this service," Ms Hogan said.

The Pride of Workmanship award is an annual award offered by Rotary.
