Rocky People Welcome at 'Domestic Drama'

New performing arts students have been 'thrown in the deep end' to present a drama production only three weeks into their course at Central Queensland University.
Members of the public are welcome to contribute a gold coin donation to attend the performance of ‘Interiors’, from 8pm on Wednesday, March 27, at CQU Rockhampton Campus' Drama Studio The 24 first-years have been working intensively with Melbourne-based playwright/director/teacher Christine Sinclair.
Ms Sinclair said the students would perform extracts of existing plays relating to domestic life, family relationships and memory.
She said she had chosen quality Australian and international works to complement the talents of the new students.
Ms Sinclair has developed a reputation for working as a community artist, and has visited previously to work on Yeppoon The Musical (wartime stories) and No Bull (meatworks stories) In her drama teaching role, she has many accomplished graduates including Golden Globe winner Rachel Griffiths, Lano and Woodley comedian Colin Lane, Almost Greener TV actress Bree Walters and leading lights of the Melbourne theatre scene.
"These new students are a talented bunch and are responding well since being thrown into the deep end," she said.
