CQUniversity Sydney campus recently celebrated the Moon Festival which is also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Just like Christmas in western cultures, the celebrating of the Moon Festival is one of the most important events in the Chinese and Vietnamese calendar.

Keeping with tradition, the Sydney campus gave out moon cakes to students and staff, which is considered the customary treat for this cultural event. Students had the choice between Red Bean and Walnut, Green Tea and Tarot flavoured moon cakes.
Dating back thousands of years, this festival celebrates the end of the summer harvesting which is popular amongst farmers.
It is a time to reflect and be grateful for the fruits of their labour, which is often considered the Chinese version of ‘Thanksgiving'.
Families get together and partake in traditional customs such as eating moon cakes, lighting of lanterns, burning incense and planting Mid-Autumn trees.
