Taylor becomes first woman president of engineering body

CQU's Executive Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Health Professor Elizabeth Taylor has become the first woman president of the Australian Council of Engineering Deans (ACED).
Professor Taylor was elected to the position earlier this month by the council\'s members and replaces Professor Archie Johnston, Dean of Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney.
Professor Taylor said she was honoured by the appointment and would use her position to establish relationships with other organisations such as the NZ Council of Engineering Deans and the Australian Council of Deans of Sciences.
She also aims to bring issues of interest to ACED members before the government and industry.
