Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Staff and students welcome at Mosque Open Day in Rockhampton 

CQU staff and students have been invited to attend the Islamic Society of Central Queensland's Open Day at the Rockhampton Mosque.

The Mosque, on the corner of Fitzroy and Kent streets, will host the event from 10am on Saturday June 21, with presentations from 10.30am and a free lunch (including mixed Asian dishes, tea and coffee and other refreshments) from 1pm.

The chief guest will be CQU's Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Angela Delves and the main speaker will be Dr Abdalla, the Director of the Islamic Research Centre in Griffith University.
