Congratulations to first-year Electrical Engineering students Lauren Keleher, Aishling McLeod and Reuben Smith who have earned Australian Power Institute (API) bursaries based on their academic results.
The CQUni trio are among only 13 Queenslanders named as recipients this year. They'll be invited to an awards presentation ceremony in mid October.

As bursary recipients, Lauren, Aishling and Reuben will receive $8000 in financial support over the next four years of their study and will have a chance to develop practical, real-world skills through paid vocational employment with API member companies. This could amount to more than $20,000 over three summer vacations.
"API Power Engineering Bursary scholarships are very competitive and we are very happy that three of our students received the award this year," CQUniversity's Power System Engineering lecturer Dr Amanullah Maung Than Oo said.
The industry-sponsored bursary program brings together a number of organisations committed to encouraging and developing high quality electrical and mechanical graduates. The program hopes to instill in its bursary recipients skills and motivation for careers in the energy sector.
API is dedicated to promoting power engineering education in Australia and supports universities by providing bursary scholarships, funding laboratory facilities, developing engineering courses and funding academic positions. Details at www.api.edu.au/
