Conservatorium gears up for 'Big Night In'

When you take various bands, performers, singers, movers and groovers from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music at CQU Mackay, and throw them all together in a musical extravaganza, you get a 'Big Night In'.

PhotoID:3488 Derrin Kerr, Lecturer at CQCM’s Jazz Department, is busy helping students get their acts together, polishing already-formed ensembles and singing groups from nearly all backgrounds for this Friday’s performance.

“There’s going to be a bit of reggae, country, radio jazz, African music, rock n pop, a jazz orchestra and even a devo band,” said Derrin.

It’s the Conservatorium's final performance for the year and it’s hoped to showcase the variety of talent and generally just entertain the masses.

The all-star, all-encompassing musical extravaganza will start at 8pm this Friday, October 20.

Tickets can be purchased by phoning the Con on 4940 7800 - Student $5, Friends of the Con and Concessions $10 and Adults $20.
