CQUniversity students add to Mozart production

CQUniversity music students will play an integral role in Mackay Choral Society's production of Mozart's Requiem and the Australian premiere of Matthieu's Irish Mass this Sunday December 14 (from 4pm) at the Mackay Entertainment Centre.

According to Kim Kirkman, associate lecturer at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, the concert could not go on without them.

"CQUniversity students are vitally important to the concerts that are produced in Mackay. The show just couldn't go on without them."

The Irish Mass features traditional Irish instruments including the Uillian Pipes, Whistle and Fiddle. Two of these instruments will be performed by CQUniversity students.

Kristi Gregory, an Airlie Beach resident, will be the soprano soloist. Kristi intends to study next year at CQUniversity Mackay.

Sunday's concert is free to the public.
