Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mackay Hosts Aussie Music Theatre Legend 

Australian music theatre legend Nancye Hayes will make a brief visit to Mackay this week (May 10-12) for Kiss Me Kate auditions.

Kiss Me Kate is the major production for Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music's music theatre students. It will be performed from August 21-24.

Nancye was the original Australian lead in Sweet Charity in the late 1960s and went on to feature in most of the best known musicals over the next few decades.

She has branched out as a choreograher, director and teacher and has recently directed the latest Australian production of Wizard of Oz.
