Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Land use a hot topic during QREX breakfast 

Regulations, obligations and rights were all terms which came into play during Wednesday's (July 22) Hypothetical Breakfast at Rockhampton Leagues Club.

The Hypothetical topic was 'Licence to operate - Necessary evil or hidden opportunity' and participants debated this from a wide range of angles.

The QREX (Queensland Resources Expo) event was well attended by participants from CQUniversity, which is a Foundation Sponsor of the Expo and the official presenter of the Hypothetical.

Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard officially opened the breakfast, which featured Dr Susan Kinnear, Professor Kerry Mummery and recent Engineering graduate Chanelle Harvey (now at Ergon) on the panel.

Crown Law barrister John Tate was the moderator and other panel members included:
