Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

New professor makes research leadership his business 

Newly promoted to Professor, Paul Hyland is already advancing his role as a research leader within the Faculty of Business & Law.

PhotoID:1193 He is active in encouraging research output, journal and conference publications and submissions for external research funding.

Professor Hyland said he was working alongside fledgling researchers throughout the writing, editing and publishing phases.

He is currently supervising a range of students, who are researching in the area of innovation management and continuous improvement.

Professor Hyland is also keen to work alongside industries and industry associations to help them manage innovation.

He is among the organisers of the 12th annual International Employment Relations Association conference, to be hosted by CQU's Faculty of Business & Law at the Capricorn Coast during July 5-8 this year.
