Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQCM students make a splash in soapie action 

What do you get when you mix suds and Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music students? A Soapie? As part of their fundraising activities, CQCM students were caught performing in the CQU Mackay staff carpark with buckets and sponges in their hands.

Bachelor of Music Theatre Co-ordinator Judith Brown said regular car washes were used to raise money for professional development activities for Bachelor of Music Theatre club members. “The students are also fundraising to help out the graduating students in their professional presentation as they move into the entertainment industry,” she said.
