Mentors recognised in Bundaberg
Published on 22 October, 2002
CQU currently provides a peer support program for all first-year undergraduate internal students (full-time/part-time) studying at our campuses. This program links first-year students to Student Mentors during the first day of the University's orientation program.
Recently, Counselling, Careers & Health, Bundaberg Campus held its annual Mentor Dinner and Presentations at Across the Waves Sports Club. It gave the Mentors an opportunity to benefit from their commitment to the program throughout the year and also a chance for the staff to personally thank them for their considerable efforts, keeping in mind that their involvement in the Student Mentor Program is voluntary. The Mentors were presented with their certificates of appreciation. Mentor of the Year (Bundeberg) was awarded to Eddie Stockill. “We appreciate that the help from a CQU Mentor can make a significant difference to a student's first year at university. Their assistance is invaluable,” said Sue Praed Intake Officer, Counselling, Careers & Health, Bundaberg Campus Photo (MVC127F) From Left to Right - Eddie Stockill - Mentor of the Year, Michele Palu - Campus Support Officer Bundaberg Campus, Peter Kennedy - Mentor Coordinator
