Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

PhotoID:8706CQUniversity Rockhampton celebrates "CQUniversity International Week" April 18 to 24, raising awareness of internationalisation and our international activities among students, academic and professional staff.

Highlighting our Australian International Campuses and projects in Central Queensland, there will be lunch time interactive seminars on international markets, the University's recruitment program and the development of sustainable international partnerships.

CQUniversity will celebrate the 21st Birthday of the CQUniversity Rockhampton English Language Centre with a cocktail party featuring special guest Associate Professor Seamus Fagan, founding Director of Studies and Chair, English Australia.

On the 22nd of April the University will conduct its annual International Exchange Fair featuring visiting universities from around the globe.

Student and others can find out, first hand, about the opportunities which exist to study overseas as part of CQUniversity program.

Staff development is also on the agenda, with training on legislation and cultural awareness workshops to be delivered.
