Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Stars Concert Heads Indoors 

Music Spectacular Stars Under the Stars was forced into the CQ Community Sports Centre by the threat of storms.

PhotoID:479 Audience numbers were down on expectations but the crowd of around 350 seemed to enjoy the mix of orchestra, band, singers and dancers.

The Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music production featured Rockhampton Concert Orchestra, Capricornia Silver Band, Bachelor of Performing Arts students, and a variety of soloists.

PhotoID:480 Guest conductor Martin Jarvis, from Darwin Symphony Orchestra, lifted spirits and produced a good performance on the night.
