Published on 05 June, 2008
Research Unplugged, an initiative of CQU's Healthy Communities research flagship, has been launched in Rockhampton (May 29, 6pm-7pm) with a presentation and discussion about ‘Assessing climate change risk and its implications for Community Health and Wellbeing in Queensland'.
Organisers from CQU Healthy Communities have arranged a bi-monthly series of discussions for 2008 under the ‘Research Unplugged' banner.

Initiative promoter Dr Jim Douglas said the main target audience was expected to be health professionals, but participants would be welcome from the broader community too.
Dr Douglas said the idea of Research Unplugged is based upon the concept of science or knowledge cafes, popular in Europe and the United States.
The main idea is to have current and exciting research presented by an expert to an audience made up of professionals and lay persons in an informal setting.
Dr Douglas said the initial venue for Research Unplugged events would be the Ginger Mule in William Street. Details are available via 07 4930 9371or j.douglas@cqu.edu.au .
