Multimedia students showcase their creativity

A creative team of Multimedia students from Central Queensland University (CQU) Mackay have united their expertise to produce a new and innovative web site, set to launch in early 2006.

The web site aims to entice new and continuing students into the ever-changing and exciting world of multimedia by providing a focus on all aspects of digital content design and development, including web design and development, digital movie-making, animation, java programming and digital audio technologies.

PhotoID:2644 The website will exhibit samples of students’ work and will provide relevant program and course information, including links to sites that will detail further interests.

According to Cathie Sherwood, Program Coordinator of the Bachelor of Multimedia Studies Program in Mackay, “This is a project which looks at multimedia from a student’s perspective. The site is being designed and developed by students for students”.

"It is the students who know what new students want to find out about and they can provide answers to the kinds of questions potential students might ask,” said Cathie. “The site will also showcase the work of current students and teaching staff, which overall makes this website an innovative resource”.

For further information about the web site or the Bachelor of Multimedia Studies program, telephone Cathie Sherwood on 07 4940 7861 or email: c.a.sherwood@cqu.edu.au.
