Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mackay People Invited on a Musical Journey 

Mackay people are invited to attend a series of performance-based seminars charting the history of popular music.

The seminars, which are free of charge, will be presented throughout the year by Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music lecturer Judith Brown.

PhotoID:476 They will also be video streamed to students outside Mackay as part of the Virtual Conservatorium initiative.

Each of the seminars will be held from 6pm on a Wednesday night at the CQCM Theatre, on the Mackay Campus of Central Queensland University.

The first in the series - 'The Birth of Popular Music' - will be presented from 6pm on Wednesday, March 12.
