Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Hon. Justice Stan Jones recognised on Queen's Birthday 

Central Queensland University is delighted with the news that its former Chancellor, Hon. Justice Stan Jones, has been made an Officer in the Order of Australia.

PhotoID:1959 Justice Jones’ award in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours’ List recognises the outstanding contributions he has made to higher education and the law.

“Justice Jones served Central Queensland University and its predecessors for 30 years, 14 of them as Chancellor,” said the University’s Registrar, Mr Ken Window.

“This award is but a small thank you from the people of Central Queensland in particular for the leadership, commitment and unstinting gift of his time given freely by Stan over three decades to Central Queensland University.”
