Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Con backs Mackay Festival of Arts 

CQU's Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music will take an active role in the 2003 Mackay Festival of Arts, from July 19-25.

PhotoID:725 The festival is now driven by the Mackay City Council and is a collaborative project with key identities within the city, including CQCM.

The CQCM input will include lunchbox concerts, hosting of a pottery exhibition, performances for a Wine and Food Day and provision of bands for the 'Tasting Mackay' program.

Organisers are expecting about 15,000 people throughout the week.
