Tram provides a moving billboard for CQU

CQU Rockhampton staff and students may have seen one or more of the 10 city and district buses branded by the University this year.

Further afield, CQU Melbourne International Campus Director Darryl Stewart thinks the University has also got its money worth from a tram promotion this year.

PhotoID:3389 "Melbourne’s favourite avenues have been receiving the CQU message since February 2006, well before the Commonwealth Games," says Darryl.

"Sending the message 'Everyone is a winner at CQU' to the many thousands of visitors to Melbourne during the Games, Grand Prix and finally the AFL finals, the tram looked great and caught the eye of many a visitor.

"The tram was originally scheduled for a 4-month run but has been seen constantly since then due to the generous nature of the advertising agents.

"The tram was very popular with staff and students, particularly interstate visiting students, one who wrote to the Sydney Campus requesting a CQU bus on their own transport system.

"Keep an eye out next time you are in Melbourne the tram may still be running the streets with the CQU message," Darryl says.
